Vitamix seems to have done it again with the Vita Prep 3, one of the Vitamix Commercial Blenders range.
Vitamix have been making blenders like the vita prep 3 blender for 80 years and in that time have given rise to a following from the restaurant and bar industries thanks in part to their meticulous attention to detail, craftsmanship and producing the equipment these industries need and want.
The Vitamix commercial blenders are capable of tackling the toughest of meats and vegetables and all that is thanks to a very large motor and some great workmanship.
The commercial blenders from Vitamix seem packed full of features and include ease of cleaning and a workmanship only Vitamix seem to be able to produce.
To start with the blender has a 1.5 horse power motor giving up to 37,000rpm. This is a truly awesome amount of power from a blender. The blade is made from hardened stainless steel meaning the blades will homogenize even the densest of ingredients.
The jug itself is a large 2 liters enabling the user to make those soups, purees and salsas in large batches. Variable speed dial offers the operator different speeds for certain ingredients.
A nice well designed lid sits on top of the jug which stays on the blender when being used although in the early years the lid did come off sometimes. This seems to have been rectified in the newer models.
The Vitamix commercial blenders have many advantages over their rivals.
It can grind hard nuts and seeds into fine powder and even flour. It also has the ability to finely chop vegetables and meat effortlessly so one can make those soups and pates.
It can be used on a daily basis and still prepare food as if brought yesterday. A 54 page recipe book is included giving a whole host of information on recipes, different methods and variations to make this blender work better for the user.
On top of these features, a 3 year warranty is supplied plus a 1 year service contract.
There doesn't seem to be much of a disadvantage with the Vitamix blenders, except for perhaps the price. Vitamix Commercial Blenders are expensive and probably out of reach of most people's budget.
However, these commercial models are mainly used in the commercial kitchens and bars around the world and not in the ordinary kitchen.
Vitamix blenders are a commercial kitchen's and bartender's dream with their powerhouse functions and even more powerful performance. They have the ability to puree, grind, chop or blend pretty much everything that gets it their way thanks in part to the huge 1.5HP motor and stainless steel blades.
Mainly used in commercial kitchens and bar rooms around the world the Vitamix commercial blenders are expensive and will probably discourage most home consumers from purchasing one. However if you want a good solid all round performance blender that will make your life easier, then a vita prep 3 could be worth the cost.
