The Mini Blender

Why would anyone want a mini blender?

In this country, sometimes bigger is better. It's certainly true for our television sets. It's hard to find anyone who doesn't have at least thirty five inches on their flat screen.

But when it comes to blenders, does the 'bigger is better' line of thought still ring true? Well, a larger blender will hold more, it'll probably pack more of a punch and it will probably be made of sturdier materials than smaller blenders, which means it'll probably last longer.

Why, then, would anyone ever consider buying a small blender or mini food processor? I'll tell you why. It's all about convenience.

Small Jobs

Some people buy a blender for small jobs. They don't plan on entertaining a large group of people where the blender is constantly going to be whipping up margaritas or daiquiris.

They may need it in the morning for a small protein shake and that's it. So, these people opt for a mini blender instead of going with the supercharged blender that can cut through stone if you put it in the jar.

They don't need that kind of power so they don't feel justified in paying the money for a blender like that. And powerful blenders like that don't come cheap. When it comes to mini blenders, however, now that's a different story.

Convenience and Price

The primary reasons why most people buy a small blender is because they are extremely convenient and they don't cost a lot of money. And since we don't always require lots of power or size, then these blenders are perfect.

The food processor is very easy to clean. It's compact enough that everything comes apart so that you can wash it off in the sink.

Then there's the fact that the blender doesn't take up a lot of space. Most small blenders are very narrow, which means you can fit extra appliances on your counter tops or you can store the mini blender underneath your counter in the cabinet.

Mini blenders may not be as powerful as some bigger blenders, but you can't beat them when it comes to cleaning and storing.

Drawbacks

There may be a few drawbacks to these small blenders, depending on the type and model you get. First of all, sometimes the lid doesn't stay on correctly. That means you are going to have to be careful to hold the lid down tightly whenever you are blending anything, especially if the jar is full.

Also, a mini blender is likely to have a harder time with large chunks of ice or frozen fruits and vegetables than a regular blender might. The small blender can still crush ice and can make great smoothies and shakes.

In fact the small blender is also great for making dips and salsas. But if you intend to use ice in a particular recipe, you are going to have to make sure the ice is already little by the time it goes inside the jar.

So if you are searching for a blender to buy and you are puzzled by all the brands, models and types out there, all you have to do is relax and try to figure out what your specific needs are. If you only use your blender occasionally, you don't require a huge amount of blade power, and you hate cleaning regular blenders, then you might want to seriously consider one of these blenders.

There are many brands and models on the market so you should be able to find one within your price range.
