Kitchen Aid KSB560 blender

This unit seemed to be right smack in the middle of the price range for 5 speed blenders, and combined with the fact that it carries the Kitchenaid name I decided to give it a try. The motor has almost a full horsepower and is extremely powerful for what it needs to do. It also tends to be on the loud side, but this is to be expected. The important thing is that it does its job well.

In order to give the Kitchen Aid KSB560 blender extra stability they gave the base a little extra weight, but overall the unit actually seems lighter than most and is easy to lift and move around as needed. We don’t have room to keep a blender on the counter all the time in our kitchen so I am constantly moving it between the kitchen and the pantry. In the past I have had blenders where that was no smal feat to accomplish (like a daily workout) but I am happy to say this blender breaks the cycle and it is every bit as easy as it should be.

Another great feature that I was a little surprised to find on the Kitchen Aid KSB560 blender is the intelligent speed control. In short, it seems to be able to sense resistence in the blades and supply more power accordingly. So if you use the intelligent speed control on celery, the blades will supply just enough power to shred the stalks, but if you use it on meat loaf or mashed potatoes it will supply more torque and put out the power needed for those thicker foods.

This blender is priced middle of the road, but I would place it higher up in terms of features and overall quality. Highly recommended.

Junk

Paid $100.00 for this blender and thought we were getting quality. Bought it in November 2011...the coupler on the pitcher broke at the end of November 2011. It was under warranty so Kitchenaid replaced it with a new one. Second one broke in January on 2012..lights started blinking & it wouldn't turn back on. Received the third one 4 days later and before we could even send the broken one back the third one did the same thing..lights started blinking and wouldn't turn back on. We only made smoothies with the blenders. Junk!! I'm hoping to get my money back!

second kitchenaid blender to brake with minimal use!!

I have to agree. The first kitchenaid blender we bought broke (all the lights started blinking and it wouldn't run) and we thought it was just a fluke. We exchanged it for another one and again the same thing!! We barely used it since we got it and it broke again. I won't be buying a kitchenaid product again.

Huge KitchenAid fan HIGHLY disappointed

I'm just heading out to return my second KitchenAid KSB560MC blender this week. We love the KitchenAid brand - most of our appliances, big and small, are KitchenAid as we find the quality dependable. But not this blender. Tired of buying cheap blenders on a regular basis, we decided to pay the price for this one, hoping it would be the last.

It worked great for the first time or two and then part of the mechanism loosens off in the bottom of the pitcher and all of a sudden you have whatever it is you're blending leaking out the bottom of the pitcher all over the counter. Thinking we'd ended up with a faulty one, we exchanged the first one for a different one but it does the same thing.

Very disappointing quality for the price we paid...

Loud!

The advertising for this blender said it was quiet. That is a laugh and a half. Don't use this if your kids are sleeping, it will wake them up! Other than that, it works okay I guess.
