Hamilton Beach 50644 Wavelogic blender

The Good: This blender is inexpensive and the plastic jar seems very durable. Previously I had a blender with a glass jar and it broke, I trust this design much better. The Hamilton Beach 50644’s Wavelogic blender technology makes for very homogeoneous blends.
The Bad: While things like protein shakes come out pretty good in this blender, frozen drinks and fruit smoothies suffer from the fact that this blender seems to be deficient when it comes to crushing ice. I found it left some (usually small) chunks of ice behind just about no matter what I did.
Overall: The Hamilton Beach 50644 Wavelogic blender is a great economy model appliance. I’d recommend it to anyone who doesn’t want to spend a lot of money because they don’t need to use a blender very often, or even to people who use a blender frequently but don’t use it for anything too demanding. Consider the fact that some blenders sell for over $300 and it should be clear that a blender like this one (which costs a fraction of that) shouldn’t be held to the same standards.
In other words, this may not be the most incredible blender on the market, but it isn’t intended to be. It’s intended to be an affordable blender than works pretty well, and at that it excels and will probably exceed most reasonable expectations.
