Blendtec Total Blender

The Blendtec total blender is by far the best blender I've ever owned. I'm still not 100% happy, but I think Blendtec has come closer to perfect than any of the other ones I've seen or tried. One thing that's clear is this blender has a TON of power. It will blend things that your standard kitchenaid blender would barely put a dent in.

I make smoothies and shakes all the time and this is the first blender to ever do a really good job. I had even read something about blending an avocado WITH the pit, and I tried that too. Works amazing! I wouldn't necessarily recommend it but it wasn't bad either. The point I noticed was that some other blenders I have used don't even crush ice for frozen drinks very well. Meanwhile this blender shreds avocado pits practically into dust.

I mentioned that I wasn't 100% thrilled though, and the main reason for that is the sound. The Blendtec total blender is one of the loudest blenders ever. I suppose that's probably to be expected because it is so powerful, but I think some commercial mixers offer an enclosure that helps cut down on the noise. I was not able to find something like that for this blender.

Also, the warranty is not quite as good as the Vita-Mix. Still, all in all I have to say I love this Blendtec. It is the first blender never to have let me down. I've had it for a month so far and it has surpassed my expectations and risen to every challenge (and believe me I have not been easy on it!) If you can tolerate the noise when you're using it, this is absolutely the blender to buy. Spending money on cheaper ones is just going to leave you disappointed.
